Halloween and Snow!

First frost of the season - brrr!

We kicked off last week with Halloween festivities, and as soon as we turned the calendar to November, we had our first snow of the season.  It didn't last long, but it was a stark reminder that winter is coming!

Halloween was fun, but very chilly! Evie had some invitations to go trick-or-treating with friends, but she opted to stay home and go out with Noah.  Our neighborhood is so much fun on Halloween night, so we were glad she was here with us.  Evie reported feeling a little awkward when she went to some of our older neighbors' houses and they asked what her costume was...when she replied, "An old granny," a couple ladies said, "Oh, you're dressed up as me!"  Ha ha!  Everyone was in good spirits, pumpkins were glowing, and lots of candy was collected!

The week ended with parent-teacher conferences and a day off from school Friday.  The kids are both doing great at school, and we loved having the chance to chat with their teachers and see the progress they're making so far.  We are especially grateful that both kids have amazing teachers that they really connect with this year.  After conferences, Evie and I packed up and headed off camping with her Girl Scout troop.  Luckily, it was cabin camping, so we had some basic amenities, but there was no running water.  The girls have matured so much since we started doing this 4 years ago, so they made it a pretty easy trip!  

Noah wrapped up his flag football season with a round-robin tournament on Saturday.  He loved playing football this year, and we all had fun watching this new sport!
