It's been a couple of weeks, and we had a wonderfully relaxing time away at Shadow Lake to celebrate the week of July 4th! Before departing for camp, Evie and Noah finished up Art Camp, and Noah had a couple more Little League All-Star games. Evie also had her 12-year checkup at the doctor, and she is now nearly 5'3" tall!! I'm starting to wonder if this girl will be taller than her mama?!
Our week at Shadow Lake was not the sunniest, blue-sky week we've had, but most days were good enough for some lake time, and a couple were very nice! Throughout the week, we experienced Canadian wildfire smoke, strong storms, sticky humidity, but also lots of warmth, sunshine, fireworks, good food, card games, fishing, bike rides, tubing, and much more.

Noah's final baseball game was in Fairfax during our camp week, so we commuted to Fairfax from there. His team showed great improvement, even though they didn't get a win!
We are especially grateful for our time at camp, because less than 24 hours after we headed back home, the driveway and road at camp have completely flooded due to a massive rain storm. Rivers and streams are continuing to rise in this scary storm, but thankfully things are still okay in Essex. Wishing everyone safety in the storm!
