Rain, Smoke, Go Away!

It feels like we're about at the mid-point of Summer, and we are still waiting for the true summer weather to arrive!  In just the past week, we have had strong storms, rainy days, and even many of the nice days have been clouded by Canadian Wildfire Smoke.  That being said, so many of our fellow Vermonters were devastated by the flooding last week, so we are counting our blessings for a safe and dry house.

Last week, Evie had cooking camp, and she brought home lots of delicious leftovers!  She was even asked by the instructor to be the helper teacher for next year's camp!  Noah was at Mountain Bike camp, which was also a huge success.  Noah seems to be a natural on the bike, and he had fun trying some new trails with the most amazing instructors!

Evie also had an exciting new addition to her Irish Dance wardrobe - a beautiful new (used) dress!  Since it was kind of pricey, we made a deal with Evie that she'd have to do some extra help around the house to "pay" for it, and she's done a great job with her end of the bargain - she has babysat, cooked dinner, walked Frankie, and cleaned her room.  Win-win!

They made dinner and got a movie night all set up while we went out for a drink!  Amazing!!

For adult fun, we had a couple of concerts on the schedule!  Thankfully one was indoors and we were able to attend.  The other concert was outdoors, and it was postponed from Thursday to Friday.  After arriving for the show on Friday, another storm rolled through and we had to evacuate to our car for 1.5 hours, and then the show was cancelled altogether.  Such a disappointment!

We were all feeling very excited for the show!

There were a couple of lovely days last week, and we packed a lot into those.  We celebrated our friend Becca's beautiful wedding on Tuesday, and we had a fun summer day with pickleball, swimming, and ice cream on Saturday.  Is it too much to ask for a week straight of these days?!

Congrats Becca!

Last, but not least, we have another round of family birthdays this week!  Happy 21st Birthday to Carly yesterday and Happy Birthday to Grandpa Zeke on Thursday!  We celebrated all together with some yummy drinks and quite a feast, ending with the infamous homemade ice cream cake.  YUM!
