February Frenzy

It was another action-packed week around here.  We finally had some nice weather and enough snow to play in, so Matt and the kids decided to create a luge track out back (inspired by the Olympics).  The weather has not worked out for building an igloo this year, so this new project helped to fill the void.  We also enjoyed some X-C ski time in the field, and our first family trip to Bolton for some downhill skiing/snowboarding.  Noah even rode on the chairlift for the first time!  It was slow going, but he ended on a positive note!

Snow is her happy place!

First trip to Bolton!

Evie had her first-ever, in-person concert for violin last week. The kids did a great job, and we absolutely loved that they were able to have their concert in-person.  I can still remember my first concert when I was Evie's age, and she was so happy to be there performing for all her loyal fans!  It was also monumental, because this is the first time we have stepped foot in her school building in TWO FULL YEARS.

Evie did a solo with two of her friends - notice them down in front of the stage!

Great job, girls!

Another little solo

The whole orchestra

Support from her loyal fans in the parking lot!

A funny little paper of Evie's we noticed in the music hallway on our way out

We also had another February birthday to celebrate - Elliot turned 17 on Friday!  We followed the birthday celebration with a low-key Super Bowl feast on Sunday.  Evie spoiled us by making football-shaped whoopie pies for dessert, and they were delicious!  She has become quite the independent baker.

HBD Elliot!

Poor Grandma Betti...is she shrinking?!

Working hard on Super Bowl dessert

Amazing job by Evie - she did this on her own, start to finish!

Super Bowl nibbles

On the heels of the weekend celebrations, it was Valentine's Day!  The kids weren't allowed to bring anything in for school, so I made them some heart-shaped pancakes to start their day off with some extra love at home.  The first couple weeks of February are always action-packed in this family, and even though it was busy, we were especially thankful that we could be together to celebrate all the happy occasions.

Working on chocolate dipped pretzels for our Girl Scouts troop

Treats for our sweet troop of girls

Breakfast treats for our kiddos

Made with love!

Noah picked Frankie as his favorite Valentine

Sweet cards for me!

Evie's girl scout troop made valentines for all the residents at Mansfield Place, where Nana Mil lives.  These girls brightened a lot of people's lives with their artwork!

And, adding to the fun, all of Evie's Girl Scout cookies arrived!  A huge thank-you to everyone who bought cookies from her - you'll be proud to know that she had the biggest initial order out of anyone in her troop!  Local friends, your cookies will be delivered soon!

Evie barely fit in the car with all her cases of cookies!

And a few other random moments from the week:
Book club via Zoom...we look forward to meeting in person again soon!

Noah's basketball season is wrapping up this week. He has had a blast and made a lot of improvements!

Re-enacting Olympic Snowboarding.  Noah made the snowboard, and Evie sewed the bib and mittens for the doll.  So fun!
