Vitamin D Therapy

I'm not sure how we have received this gift of gorgeous weather in March, but it's here. 60 degrees and sunny for several days in a row, and we are LOVING IT! The kids immediately dressed in shorts and tank tops and informed me that this weather is warmer than Florida! We went for our first Maple Creemee of the year, went to the park (multiple times), played beanbag toss, biked, scootered, did sidewalk chalk, ate lunch outside, and took lots of walks with Frankie. It has been so refreshing to feel the warm sun, and see everyone come out of hibernation. To add to the positivity, Matt and I found out that we will be able to register for vaccine appointments in April, which makes normalcy feel like it's on the horizon. We've also been reflecting back to life a year ago, and we remember how sad and scared we were, as we had just begun life in lockdown. A year later, we are cautious, but life doesn't feel quite as scary, and things are getting better each day as more and more people are protected from the virus.

Playing Bingo via Zoom with the extended Zehnacker Family was the only indoor activity of the weekend!

One little piece of normalcy was that Noah attended his first birthday party for a friend in over a year. It was a fun and safe outdoor party with a small group from their class. The boys played light sabers and nerf guns, and had a blast playing together to celebrate their friend Jack's birthday.

We celebrated St. Patty's Day with some green food and fun props, but we really missed being able to enjoy the festivities that usually surround Evie's Irish Dance community at this time of year. Evie entertained us with lots of dancing, at least!

The kids had Friday off from school for parent-teacher conferences, which were held via Zoom. We were glad to hear that the kids are doing well at school during this strange school year. We have felt so detached from the day-to-day happenings at school since we aren't able to volunteer at the school or pop in for lunch occasionally!

The kids astonished us by cleaning the house while we were on our Zoom conferences with their teachers! It was AMAZING!

Noah read me this whole book. This has been such a fun year of watching his reading skills develop!

Frankie continues to be her fluffy self, with an added dose of Spring Fever. She is very pleased that we are spending so much time outside, and when we are inside, she has been a little more rowdy than usual. It's like she is asking us to go out and play...all the time!
