Cold, Cold, Cold!

It was a week for hibernating around here in Vermont, with lots of cold days and nights.  And by cold, we are talking -10 at night and wind chill warnings with a "feels like" temperature of -20 during the day.  Luckily, Frankie isn't bothered by the cold thanks to her fluffy coat!  We bundled up most days and braved the elements at least for a little bit, and as long as we were moving, it was do-able.  Fresh air helps everyone's mood, even if it's cold!  One fun thing that we have discovered is that Frankie LOVES to play fetch with her Chuck It in the side yard, so we can get her some pretty intense exercise in a short period of time with that.  Perfect for cold days!

What does hibernation look like in our house?  I realized it's pretty boring, because we don't have many pictures!  Ha ha!  We worked on cleaning the basement (how have we accumulated so much stuff?!), did some birthday preparations for all the February birthdays in the family (including Matt's 40th on Wednesday!!), cooked some cozy food, had a movie night, and Matt even did Jazzercise with me in the basement because it was too cold for him to run outside.

The cold weather is causing my hands to have cracks, so I have taken to wearing these lovely gloves to protect my hands when I'm doing anything wet/messy around the house.  Any favorite solutions for cracked hands?  

Our neighbor made these adorable Bernie mitten cookies for a fundraiser.  Aren't they beautiful?!
