Home again, Home again

We had a slow start to the week, because it took us all a few days to adjust to being back home and doing things other than swimming and floating in the lake all day like we did at camp.  Real life is exhausting!  Luckily, we found a few ways to lift our spirits - friends, baking, puppy pictures, and nature.

We are also obsessed with puppy pictures these days!

Matt helped us to see this amazing comet in the sky!  Wow!

The kids were also pretty happy to re-discover some of their toys - it's amazing how fun things can be after you don't see them for a couple of weeks!

Evie sewed a face mask for her American Girl doll!

Noah and Matt made a solar pizza-box oven that can cook/melt things in the sun.  We tried it out during some of the hot weather over the weekend, and we all enjoyed some cheesy chips!

Evie has begun her journey with orthodontic work, so her mouth has been sore this week, but she has been very brave. We know it's a necessary thing, but I hate seeing her go through it! 

We got a chuckle on Friday evening when the neighboring cows broke out of the fence and went on an adventure around our neighborhood.  It was the first time we have ever seen them around our cul-de-sac in the 15 years we have lived here!

We celebrated two family birthdays over the weekend - Carly's 18th birthday (WHAAAT - she's an adult?!) and Grandpa Zeke's birthday!  It was a delicious feast of surf and turf, and with each small gathering we have, we are grateful that we can be with family to celebrate these special days together.

This week, Evie gets to spend a few bonus days at camp with Grandma and Grandpa!  Lucky girl!
