St. Patrick's Day festivities

Last week was a busy one, but I had a lot of proud mom moments.  Evie was busy with Irish Step Dance, since it was the week leading up to St. Patrick's Day.  She was very excited to be invited to Noah's preschool to give a demonstration and teach the preschoolers what she has learned about Irish Step Dance.  She did a great job, and even taught them a basic dance step, and read a book.  It was such a mix of proud mom emotions to see Evie back in her former preschool, looking so confident and mature, and a little bittersweet to remember her days of being a cute little preschooler there a few years ago.  Where did the time go?!  Evie continued her Irish dancing the next day, when the McFadden dancers visited her school.  Evie was invited to go up on stage in front of her school and do a dance all by herself, and she did it with confidence and a big smile!  It is so wonderful to see the joy that dancing brings to her.

This girl crashed hard on Friday night - she fell asleep on the couch before dinner, and didn't wake up until morning!

Noah has also been making me proud with all his creations.  He made me a St. Patty's Day card over the weekend, and he sounded out all the words himself.  I was amazed that he did this whole thing independently, without prompting.   Noah's physical stamina is also amazing.  He and Matt went for a run, and Noah made it almost a mile!

The temperature reached 50 degrees, so that called for shorts and short-sleeves for the boys when they went running!

The weekend was a much-needed relaxing time.  We enjoyed watching some UVM basketball, visited a maple sugar house, spent time with friends, and enjoyed a few St. Patty's Day treats.

The big challenge of the week was that Roscoe had a tummy issue going on, so every time we left the house, we would find an unfortunate situation on the carpet when we returned home.  We did a lot of steam cleaning and cooking special "bland diet" meals for the old hound dog.
