Snowy Exhaustion

The past week brought more...winter!  We had a snow day, celebrated Valentine's Day, and actually had weather warm enough to enjoy some time snowshoeing and Skiing/Snowboarding.  Our snow day activities included some time playing with neighbors and making chocolate dipped pretzels for Valentine's Day, then a family snowshoe hike.  I grossly underestimated the length of the trail we took for snowshoeing, and both kids were not very happy at the end. Oops!

Valentine's Day wasn't a huge deal for us, but we shared some special beverages and treats, Evie had a special Valentine's hairdo, and Matt and I had a rare date night to celebrate over the weekend.

It was Noah's first visit to the mountain on Saturday, and Matt patiently spent the day with Noah working on the basics of snowboarding.  Evie and I took some runs together, and she is becoming more confident in her skiing skills, but at the end of every run, she wanted to go check in and see how Noah was doing.  She is a sweet big sis, and one of Noah's biggest cheerleaders.

We rounded out the weekend with a visit from adorable baby Emily and her family, which unfortunately coincided with the snowboarding exhaustion hangover for Noah.  He was in NO MOOD to go snowshoeing or cooperate with anything we suggested, so Matt and Noah stayed home to have some R&R while Evie and I snowshoed with our friends.

There were a few non-snowy moments during the week, too.  Noah and I visited the dinosaurs exhibit at ECHO, and we always manage to enjoy our time at home!

Another favorite activity for the kids is playing restaurant - we thought this was a pretty good restaurant name!  HA!
