We made it through our first week of back-to-school, and I am happy to report that it was a great week for everyone. We survived the early wake-ups, walking to the bus stop, but we crashed hard on Friday night! Noah started on Tuesday, then both kids were off to school on Wednesday. Matt and I had a moment of, "Wow, this is weird!" as we were driving back from dropping Noah at school on Wednesday and the car was completely quiet. We spent our free time doing the not-so-exciting job of shopping for a new dishwasher, but it felt like a luxury to do it without kids in tow!

Evie came home from school each day with a huge smile on her face. The first day, they had done a project with some "magical" play dough, and the second day they got to have chocolate chip cookies, so it's no wonder she was smiling! She is also very excited to be in the same class with her bestie from last year.

Noah did really well, but had a little bit of an adjustment when he stayed for a full day on Thursday (his first time staying for that long!). He kept asking his teacher when I'd be there and had a tummy ache by the time I arrived. Thankfully, after a big mommy hug and a snack in the car, he was back to himself.
The holiday weekend was filled with summer-like weather, and lots of fun. We made another trip to the fair, hiked Indian Brook, picked apples, and spent a glorious Labor Day at the pool with neighborhood friends. Now we have to get ourselves back into school/work mode for another week ahead!
