April showers

Last week was a rainy one, so we caught up with a lot of friends at various play dates and went to visit the butterflies at ECHO with Grandma Karen.  Noah and I were once again happy to leave quickly, but Evie, Daddy and Grandma hung out and waited for the beautiful butterflies to land on them.  It was a fun way to spend a rainy day!

This was a big victory for Noah - he's been afraid to go down the slide at ECHO, and finally braved it for the first time! (and many, many more times after that)

The weather finally started to feel like Spring by the end of the weekend, and we celebrated Evie's buddy Annabel's birthday.  Noah had his own treat when we indulged in a creemee after grocery shopping to celebrate the weather in the 70's.  Ahhhhhh!  The meltdown that ensued after that made me question the decision of "backwards lunch", though!

Party activities

We had Evie's parent-teacher conference last week, and we are happy to hear she is doing well, particularly with her reading.  We got a chuckle out of reading some of her weekend journal entries, to see what her highlights have been, and I love seeing the phoenitic spellings of things at this age.  It's hard to believe she only has a couple months of kindergarten left!  I feel like I was just worrying about her starting school, but it turns out it has been the best thing for her, and she has flourished this year.
