The back to school germs have arrived, and both kids are getting over their first cold of the school year. Fortunately it didn't slow them down for long, but Evie had her first sick day last week. She was very sad to miss school, so I'll take that as a good sign! As we settle into our school routine, Evie loves to get off the bus and play with her friends outside for a while until we drag her in for dinner. Noah joins the girls, and we are savoring this great weather as long as it lasts! Climbing trees, scootering, sidewalk chalk, and tea parties are all part of the fun.

While Evie is at school, Noah and I typically get some chores done around the house, and we try to go on an adventure. Sometimes it's a bike ride, a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's house, a trip to the library, and this past week, he got his hair cut (there's nothing cuter than a little boy with a fresh haircut!). Now that I have more one-on-one time with Noah, he is definitely easier on his own, but he can be a spicy little guy. If he gets mad, he doesn't hesitate to throw something, hit me, or scream right in my ear. Once he settles down, he will often say, "Sorry, Mommy!" which melts my heart. Oh yes, these can be both the terrific and the terrible twos!

We try to squeeze in as much family fun as we can on the weekend, mostly because the kids' behavior takes a nosedive if we stay in the house for a whole day! This past weekend included some swimming, time at the park, a movie night with friends, and a trip to the Shelburne Farms Harvest Festival. I'm not usually a fan of big, crowded events with kids, but this one was awesome. Evie made a grapevine crown, ground her own corn for corncakes, made a wooden necklace, and we visited farm animals, played in the dirt pile with big trucks, listened to music, watched Irish Step dancers, watched a cheese-making demo, and took a horse-drawn wagon ride. Oh and we ate a bunch of delicious food!
