Basement dwellers

We have been continuing to enjoy the play room, and this past weekend, we added a futon!  Evie also got a new hand-me-down doll house which has become her absolute favorite toy.  (She's a very observant girl with her placement of doll house Daddy on the potty!  Ha ha!)  One of the most surprising features of the play room is that Evie will spend small periods of time playing by herself down there.  I even sat and ate my lunch all alone one day while she was playing, and it was quite a treat.  This feels like a huge developmental step, but as soon as I start getting sappy, I hear, "MOMMY! Come play with me!"

To avoid the risk of being complete basement dwellers, we've been spending as much time as we can outside, knowing these nice temperatures will soon be gone.

Blowing bubbles
Raking leaves

Going for walks (nice sunglasses!)

Practicing for trout season

And we've sprinkled in a few other fall activities, as well...
Baking pumpkin chocolate chip muffins
Eating pumpkin chocolate chip muffins (and sitting in a big girl chair)
Music, of course

Football - Daddy says "Go Steelers!"

Painted fingernails

New tumbling tricks!

We are having lots of fun, but we are also noticing Evie acting very much 2 years old this week.  For example, we'll try to get her to go potty, and it'll take 10 minutes of dilly dallying, then she will finally sit down and go, then we'll have 10 more minutes of procrastinating while we're trying to get her dressed and her hands washed.  Then she has a meltdown because I flushed the potty and she wanted to do it.  When you wonder why parents are exhausted at the end of the day - this is my reason!

On a different note, a huge congrats to Aunt Boo Boo and Uncle Corey who finally moved into their first house!  After several weeks of hard work getting the house ready, we're so excited they can finally call it home.
