Farm visit

Greetings blog readers!  For the first time in ~3 years, this week's blog post comes to you from "Daddy".  I'm giving "Mommy" a reprieve this week.  :-)

We've had a nice "re-entry" back into "normal" routine after a wonderful vacation at the Jersey Shore.  We've had considerably cooler temps here in VT lately and (I hate to say it) it's starting to feel a little like Fall already.  Or maybe it's just because we spent a week on the beach with loads of sunshine :-)

Erin and I had a nice date night on Tuesday evening.  Our good friend Donna came over to watch Evie while we went out for dinner and then to a Buddy Guy concert at the Flynn.  We had a great time and it was really cool to see Buddy perform in person.  His opening act was amazing as well.  This kid Quinn Sullivan who just turned 14 is apparently a blues guitar/vocal prodigy.  He started playing guitar when he was only 5 years old!  We started discussing at what age should we should enroll Evie in musical instrument lessons.  I wonder what instrument she'll play?  Flute like mommy, drums like daddy, or something else entirely.  Or maybe she'll be a soccer player instead.  Who knows!

Evie was back to her normal schedule as well.  Here she is playing one of her favorite past-times, sand table with water

The main highlight of the week was a visit to Uncle Dave and Aunt Judy's turkey farm with Grandma Betty and Evie's cousins to pick blueberries and say hi to the farm animals (or animanals as Evie would say).  Evie got to "ride" a pony, hold some baby chicks, "drive" some tractors, and eat as many blueberries as her stomach could handle.  Being the outdoor girl that she is, Evie was a natural on the farm and couldn't stop talking about it all week.

Indoor activities:  Legos, painting, and braided Play-Doh bracelets

Outdoor activities: tomatoes from the garden, blowing bubbles, and smelling flowers

Uncle Corey and Aunt Boo-Boo treated us to a delicious anniversary dinner at Bluebird BBQ.  Here we have the brisket, ribs, and pulled pork.  AMAZING!!!
