Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays!

Matt's birthday kicked off the February birthday celebrations last week, and he had a great day!  He didn't want anything too elaborate for a celebration, but he had some little special glimmers throughout his day.  He started off with a birthday treat with Evie at Quality Bake Shop, and then he went into the office and shared some homemade treats with his co-workers.  He made sure to get all his birthday freebies - a free Starbucks drink, a free car wash, and a free Crumbl cookie!  And then he finished out the day with watching an awesome basketball game (Noah's first-ever middle school start!), JCAT take-out for dinner, followed by homemade cherry pie and gifts with Grandma Karen.

Starting!

Celebrations continued on Friday, with a combination birthday party for Aunt Pea and Matt.  Homemade pizza, local beer, and a great family evening together was the perfect ending to the week!  The third and final celebration for Matt followed last night with dinner out at a new Italian restaurant, and more gifts!

He restored her old bike into a new cruiser bike!  Such a heartfelt gift!

We have continued to battle the brutal cold weather, and the weekend was more of the same.  It was a good weekend for watching the Olympics, watching the Super Bowl, and testing out Aunt Pea's new sauna!

Yes, that's a NEGATIVE 18 degrees outside!

Our friends had a Bad Bunny sculpture at their Super Bowl party!  Pretty funny!

We've lost our minds with all this cold weather, and at dinner one night, it seemed like a good idea to grate parmesan cheese directly into our mouths...
We had ourselves a good laugh...and here is another truly awful picture to demonstrate the end result!

This week is the final week of basketball for Noah, both for his school and club team!  He'll wrap up with a tournament at the end of the week, and Evie is also getting ready for a class Feis this weekend that is just for the McFadden school.  It's more of a low-key competition for her, but it will be a nice opportunity to get some more feedback from a judge about her dancing in preparation for Worlds in March!
