July B-Days!

July is a big birthday month in this family, and last week was full of celebrations.  We had a delicious feast to celebrate Carly and Grandpa Zeke's birthday, complete with dinner, drinks, tons of gifts and two birthday desserts!  The celebration continued on Saturday, which was Grandpa Zeke's 75th birthday.  A big contingent of the extended family attended a Lake Monsters Game to celebrate with him, and the highlight was when Grandpa threw out the first pitch and Noah was the catcher for him.  There are a lot of baseball memories that were made on Centennial Field, where Grandpa pitched for UVM!  It was a special way to celebrate his milestone birthday, and we all had a lot of fun that evening.  Kudos to Grandpa for a great pitch - the practice paid off (wink, wink!).

More pitching practice!

Success (and perhaps a little relief!)

Speaking of baseball, Noah had a fantastic week at the Vermont Baseball School summer camp, also at Centennial Field!  He had a lot of friends from Little League doing the camp with him, so it was pretty fun to have 5 boys in the car, chatting away on the way to/from camp.  Evie finished up her second week as a helper teacher at cooking camp, so both kids have been keeping busy.  Noah is off to UVM Basketball Camp this week, and Evie is spending a couple days at Shadow Lake!

Meanwhile, Matt is in the market for a new truck, so we've started test driving some new vehicles and working our way through the decision process.

Another highlight over the weekend was a visit from our special Aunt Donna visiting from SC.  It's always a treat to spend time with her, and I love hearing the stories when she and my mom get reminiscing!  We had some good laughs and happy memories of Grandpa Hank.

And here are a few other summer moments.  The kids are loving the hammock I picked up at Costco - we wish we had had it for our camping weekend, but it will be fun for next year!

Camping-style grilling in the garage thanks to a big storm!

Trying to clear out some of the clutter in the basement.  It's a big project, but we gotta start somewhere!
