Winding Down and Ramping Up

Things are winding down at school, and the kids have lots of celebrations and field trips in these final days before they get done next Tuesday.  It's a really late ending to the school year due to the number of snow days we had during the winter.  The end of the school year always makes me a little sad as we say goodbye to all the special teachers and friends from this year!

Final Band Concert of the year for Evie

Ice cream sundaes to celebrate a great concert!

Over the weekend, we had to take a divide-and-conquer approach, which we usually try to avoid.  Evie and I headed to Boston for 2 Irish Dance competitions, and Matt stayed home with Noah for a gig and 2 baseball games on Saturday.  Noah's team finished the season strong with a 6-4-2 record, and Evie crushed her goals at her dance competition.  She finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd both days, and most excitingly, she is able to move up to the next level of competition, which is called Prelim (preliminary champs).  She has had this goal for several months, and it has been inspiring to see her work hard and commit to reaching it.  She was soooo happy when she saw the results, and my heart was swelling with pride for her, too!

Shout-out to Matt for helping to coach Little League this season!  It's no small job!

We made it!

She looked this good at 7:15am!

Cool venue for the Feis!

Waiting for the competition to start!

Happy results!

Amazingly supportive McFadden champ dancers!

Celebratory Boba Tea

White laces for her ghillies - this is a reward for getting to Prelim!

Ready for Day 2

Great results for Day 2

Matt added a new shelf to hold her new trophies!

While I was at the Feis, I got this photo memory on Facebook from 12 years ago when Evie was a tiny little baby!  Goodness, how time flies!

Even with things winding down, many activities are still in full force.  Noah has started practices for Little League All-Stars, which will be nearly every day for the next few weeks.  Evie's Irish dance classes will continue through the end of June, as well, so our calendar will continue to be full even after school is done.

I *think* it's fun to do all these activities, but we have our moments of questioning our sanity!

I felt very loved when we got home - everyone missed Mommy!
