Rain Rain, Go Away!

It's been a pretty dreary week around here.  Days and days of rain limited our outdoor fun, but when the sun came out on Saturday, we hit it hard!  We were glad to have Grandma Karen's birthday to celebrate during the week, as well as an in-person open house at Noah's school.  He was so proud to show us all around and introduce us to his teachers.  His year is off to a great start!  And, as parents, it felt wonderful to be welcomed into the school again.

The dreary weather has at least been good for baking!

The weekend was filled with fall fun.  Noah had a play date, where the two boys played football together for hours.  It was so cute to watch!  Saturday soccer included Noah's first goal of the season, so we celebrated with some cider donuts afterward at Chapin Orchard.  Later in the afternoon, we stopped by the Underhill Harvest Market for a variety of crafts, foods, music, and games.  The rain returned Sunday, but we braved the weather and went for a nice walk in the woods with Frankie.

Evie has a big week coming up.  She departs this morning for a school sleep-away field trip until Friday.  They'll be at an environmental camp about an hour away, doing lots of outdoorsy activities and staying in rustic cabins.  The camp is technology-free, so we won't hear from Evie until she gets back on Friday.  I actually attended the same camp when I was in middle school (30 years ago!), and I still remember it!  We will all miss Evie this week, but we are excited for her to have this awesome opportunity, and we're proud that she has the courage to head off excitedly!
