Thanks to this past weekend, we finally have some snow to play in, and we spent much of the long weekend outside. We "adventured" in the woods on Saturday, letting the kids choose the path, which ended up being a bit longer than anticipated. 3 miles later, we made it back to the car just before it started getting dark, but everyone had fun!

With a bit of resistance, we went on another adventure Sunday, this time on our snowshoes to a new place that we haven't been before - Mobbs Farm in Jericho. It was absolutely beautiful and picturesque with rolling hills and snow covered trees, but the kids were tired from the previous day's adventure, so we had to make several stops along the way. We will definitely go back there with fresh legs in the future.

| I challenged Evie to balance a snowball on her head while snowshoeing (to distract her from feeling so tired). She made it all the way back to the car like that! |
Yesterday, Matt and the kids worked on an igloo for most of the day. It's become a bit of a tradition for them to build an igloo every year, and this recent snowfall was nice and sticky. Everyone could work/play, take breaks, and have a relaxing time, which was just the kind of outdoor fun we needed after two days of adventuring in the woods. Our neighbor surprised us with a hot pizza for lunch, because she had noticed how often Evie and Noah have been helping to shovel the sidewalks for our neighborhood and wanted to thank them for their efforts. Sometimes I feel like we live in Pleasantville when I share these stories, but we honestly have such generous and kind neighbors!

We kept busy during the rest of the week with school, work, crafts, baking, building and lots of puppy play time. Frankie loved all the weekend outdoor adventures, but thankfully, she doesn't require that level of activity every day like Roscoe did in his younger years!

One final note...Girl Scout Cookie season has begun! In addition to the in-person sales, Evie has a Digital Cookie site where you can order cookies online, and we will deliver local orders when they arrive next month. You can also have them shipped if you live out of state!
