Happy New Year! As many people did, we took a moment to reflect on the past decade as we turned the calendar to the year 2020. It's almost hard to remember life before kids, as it was 10 years ago! But, here are a couple photos to remind us just how much time has passed...
There have been so many experiences and memories made during the past decade, and we look forward to what the coming year will bring. For New Year's Eve, we didn't have any big plans, but wanted to do a little something to celebrate, so we went out for dinner and saw a movie with the kids. It was a relaxing evening, and then we kept our tradition of having a cocktail and playing some games after the kids are in bed. It was peaceful and quiet, and we appreciated feeling good the next day (unlike some New Year's Days of past years).

Everyone had an abrupt return to reality on January 2, and even though it was a short 2-day week, it was rough. We had rather enjoyed sleeping in and staying in PJ's until 10am, so getting out the door by 7:05, when it was still dark out, evoked some major complaints. The weekend wasn't much better, and to cap it off, we took down all of our Christmas decorations, so we have officially entered the January blah season. There have been board games, crafts, lots of Lego building, football, some snow play (despite not having much snow), all peppered with bickering, general grumpiness and whining. We are hoping that we will find our routine again this week!

| An attempted hike at Indian Brook was shortened due to icy trails. The kids enjoyed this part of the hike the most - smashing holes in the ice! |

| We thought this ice formation looked like a chair...a very cold chair! |
