Mother Nature has been very kind to us this Fall, and we've been soaking it in! Last week, Noah had his Fun Run at school, we visited a couple of parks, watched a hot air balloon launch, the kids had a great day for soccer on Saturday, and we even broke out the water balloons and sprinkler to cool off on Saturday afternoon.

We also had a special visit with Aunt Mary and Aunt Theresa, who are Grandpa Hank's surviving sisters. Aunt Mary has generously sent Evie and Noah all sorts of American Girl doll items, and she was thrilled to see the kids and play with them and their dolls. Seeing these two aunts was very special to me, because their resemblance to Grandpa reminded me so much of him.
Noah was all excited for Sunday football this week. Apparently he has switched his current sport obsession from baseball to football! He was thrilled to have a hand-me-down helmet from his cousins to complete the uniform.
We also had a couple of celebrations - first, Grandma Karen's birthday! We had a yummy dinner, birthday pie (with a video chat to include all of the grandkids), and an intensely fun game of Four Square! It turns out that Grandma has a hidden talent for Four Square. :-)
The other celebration was Roscoe's 13th "gotcha day" yesterday. Our old boy is hanging in there, although he has his share of old man problems - frequent tummy troubles, doggy dementia, and anxiety, but he still loves his walks, meals, and naps in the chair!
With a very full fall schedule, I especially love these quiet bedtime moments!
