It's been a couple weeks since I updated the blog, because we were in Denver last week. There is a fabulous direct flight from Burlington to Denver, which made the travel a breeze. The kids had so much fun with their cousins, and the adults had lots of fun, too! We were able to visit the American Girl store, go to a Colorado Rockies MLB baseball game (which further fueled Noah's baseball obsession), and we visited the Denver Zoo. There were also tons of great moments just hanging out having American Girl play dates, craft time, wiffle ball games, and Rubik's Race showdowns. We are so grateful for the time we had together!

Evie was all smiles on the flight home, despite throwing up as we were boarding the plane! We had gotten up early for our flight, and she had been complaining that her stomach didn't feel great, but we figured it was just from waking up so early and not having breakfast right away. We tried to encourage her to relax and eat while we waited in the airport, but things got worse as we were in the jet bridge, so we quickly handed her a ziploc bag just in case. The poor girl threw up in the bag as we walked onto the plane, and then had to keep walking to her seat. Not long after, she proclaimed that she felt "better than ever!" and was invited to help the flight attendant with the safety instructions, which earned her a free snack box. When we landed, she said it was the best flight ever! Thank goodness for selective memories.

| We re-created two photos from our past visits to Denver. Suffice it to say everyone has grown a bit! |
Re-entry has been a little tough on all of us. I didn't expect a 2-hour "jet lag" to bother anyone, but we have all been tired as we adjust back to EST. Despite our best efforts to stay in summer mode, there is is no denying the start of school in a couple short weeks. We are enjoying all the summer garden veggies, spending lots of time outside, and savoring the slow mornings while they last. We were very excited to receive Noah's placement letter and find out that he will have the same, wonderful kindergarten teacher that Evie had three years ago. That was a gift to me, as I have been wrestling with the big emotions of sending my baby off to kindergarten!
