Maple Open House weekend is always a highlight for me! Even though our weekend plans didn't allow us to devote a full day to the event, we still visited three sugar houses and ate enough sweets to bring on a stomach ache. Each sugar house has different attractions, including warm maple waffles, maple creemees, syrup samples, candies, cookies, donuts, maple hot dogs, maple lemonade, and many other treats. There is one sugar house that also has sheep that live on the farm, and we got to see an adorable 5-day-old lamb on our way to enjoy some maple goodness.

We packed a lot of extra events into the evening hours last week, and it made me realize how much we cherish our normal evenings at home to have dinner and reconnect with each other. Thankfully it was all fun stuff! Evie was very excited that she had an art project that was part of the district-wide Fine Arts Night, and Noah was excited for us to join him at his preschool for family game night. Evie and I were able to escape for a gorgeous afternoon of skiing together after Parent-Teacher conferences, and Matt played a fund-raiser gig with King Me. Phew. It was fun, and now we are ready for a regular boring week!
