The big event for last week was that Evie and Matt went on a little trip to camp with two of Evie's friends and their dad. It was a whirlwind trip, but they managed to do a lot of cool things - fishing, hiking, crafts, visiting the Glover moose, and a bonfire and smores. And then Evie capped off the trip by getting carsick in our friends' car on the way home - oops! Note: never carpool with the Guzowskis on a road trip.

Noah was very sad that he wasn't included in the camp trip, and he brought out his biggest baddest behavior to show me how he felt. He was throwing things, he pulled paintings off the walls, screamed, cried, and carried on for a loooong time. Somehow we managed to get out of the house and went to the library for music, which saved the day. Once I could reason with him, I gave Noah the choice of what special fun thing he wanted to do while Daddy and Evie were gone, and he chose to go out to dinner with Grandma and have some snuggle time and books in Mommy's bed in the morning.

The kids have had so much fun playing in the leaves this year. Can you see Noah in this pic?

It was nice to have everyone back home!
We had our first parent-teacher conference for Evie, and we appreciated having some time to chat with her teacher and get a sense for how things are really going in first grade. It has felt like a little bit of a struggle to get settled into this school year for Evie. Thankfully, the weekend weather was beautiful, and Evie enjoyed having a couple extra days off from school!

Evie came to drop Noah off at school. She looks much bigger than when she was a student there!
