Erin go bragh

Last week's main event was St. Patrick's Day, aka, Evie's favorite day of the year!  I have to say, it's become one of my favorite days, too.  Music and dancing bring people together, and our world sure needs a little more of that these days!

Evie had 5 performances on St. Patrick's Day, and she was also interviewed for the local NBC5 news station!  If you want to see her interview, you can find it here: https://www.mynbc5.com/article/st-patricks-day/70774297  The day began at Evie's former elementary school, where she was originally inspired to try Irish Dance after seeing the McFadden dancers on St. Patrick's Day when she was 5 years old!  She was able to visit her Kindergarten and 2nd Grade teachers and their classes and talk to some of the students, and then the dancers put on their first show of the day.  From there, they went to St. Francis Xavier School, RiRa Irish Pub, Christ the King School, and Jericho Cafe and Tavern.  It was a busy day, but filled with good cheer, great friends, and lots of laughs.  Miss Beth, Evie's dance teacher, powered through the long day despite being 37 weeks pregnant...and then she had her baby on Friday!

Evie made herself some green pasta the night before St. Patrick's Day to carb load for her long day!

Essex Elementary - always our favorite stop!

Erin + Erin - a perfect duo for St. Patrick's Day!

So happy to see our friend Nick at Christ the King!

Carly was at JCAT!  Yay!

Evie and Amos - still smiling at the end of a long day!

Our amazing neighbors came out and braved the crowds to see Evie dance.  So sweet!

Luckily, it was a short week of school, and the kids had a 4-day weekend for parent-teacher conferences.  We attended conferences, and then Evie and I headed off to Connecticut on Friday AM for one final Feis before she competes at Worlds next week.  Yes - NEXT WEEK!  Send Evie all your good vibes on Tuesday 3/31!

Getting ready for the competition

2nd place in soft shoe

2nd place in hard shoe

2nd place overall!  A fantastic result for Evie!!

Awesome job, Evie!

While we were gone, the boys were unleashed to go get Noah's baseball gear for the season at Dick's Sporting Goods.  Noah hit the jackpot going shopping with Dad - he ended up with a new glove, new catcher's gear, a new catcher's mitt, and Matt got a new glove, too!  Vermont's weather has not realized that it's Spring, instead sending us a fresh dumping of snow, but we hope Spring will be here soon.  We are looking forward to baseball season and sunshine!

March is a rough month in Vermont.  Sighhhhhh!

Frankie's done with winter too!

At our little neighbor's ice skating show.  We love this crew!

I'm not sure who is happier to be home!
