I'm trying to get my brain back into reality after a nice, long, relaxing week at camp. Unfortunately, Matt had to leave for a family funeral in NYC for a couple days (talk about culture shock to go from Glover to Brooklyn and back), but he wasted no time jumping right back into camp activities when he returned.

The pace of life at camp is different, and it's so nice to be around our family with lots of extra helping hands. We love being unplugged from the world for a bit, and even with the addition of WiFi this year, the culture of camp remains the same. We started most of our camp days with coffee on the deck, a bike ride along the lake, and then we would go to the beach for the afternoon for fishing, kayaking, swimming, and tubing. Evenings were filled with board games, reading, and puzzles. The black flies were relentless for the first few days, and poor Evie had so many bites on her face that her eyes were swollen. Thankfully, as the weather warmed up, the black flies disappeared and we could enjoy our outdoor time more peacefully. It was an awesome week, and there is something heart-warming about seeing my kids enjoy a place that was so special to my childhood, as well.

| On our last day, we got all ready to go to the beach, and it started thundering. To find relief from the oppressive humidity, the kids and I cooled off in the rain. It was not very enjoyable! |

We are always a little depressed after we come back from camp, so I bought tickets back in May for us to go see Circus Smirkus so that we'd have something fun upon our return. It was an amazing show, as always!
Pool time, creemees, and strawberry picking have also lifted our spirits and reminded us that being home is pretty fun, too!
