Guzowski Family Blog: Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone! While we still have a lot of Covid restrictions and we are remaining cautious, we were so thankful to be able to go to mass at our church and gather safely with vaccinated family members to celebrate. This glimpse of normalcy is making us antsy for more and more freedom! Matt was able to register for his vaccine yesterday, and I'll be able to register next week - yay!

Last week's big excitement was the arrival of Grandma Betti and Grandpa Zeke's new puppy, Ellie! Sophie stayed with us while they went to get Ellie, and since then we have all been making a lot of excuses to stop by and see Ellie nearly every day. She is such a sweet and roly poly pup, and we just want to snuggle her every chance we can!

Over the weekend, we were happy to resume the tradition of the Essex Parks and Rec Easter Egg hunt at the nearby park. As an added bonus on our way, there was a drive-through (or walk-through) Easter parade at Essex Alliance Church. The kids got to bike through and see a bunch of characters and take a goodie bag with them at the end. It was a great surprise! We also got to see Nana Mil briefly, since she was finally allowed to leave her building to go out for a drive. She wanted to hold everyone's hand while we stood there and visited, and she was glowing with happiness from the opportunity to see her family. We colored some Easter Eggs to round out the day before Easter!

We also enjoyed watching the Final Four, which has inspired the kids to play a lot of basketball lately!

Frankie must have been channeling Roscoe on Easter, because she was really a handful! The kids did their egg hunt at home and checked out their Easter baskets, but Frankie was trying to get into everything. Her puppy brain couldn't handle all the excitement. I finally asked Evie to take her for a walk so I could get some brunch food prepared before we left for church. Frankie's puppy friend Ivy jumped the fence when she saw Frankie coming, so Evie was literally dragged to an impromptu play date at our neighbor's house. Matt had to go retrieve Frankie and give her a bath when she got home, all while we were trying to get everyone ready for church! It was a very hectic hour, but somehow we all got dressed and made it to church on time.

After church, we headed to brunch at Aunt Pea's, and upon arrival, Frankie was VERY excited. She lunged toward the front seat of the car, landing on my arm that was holding the yummy Maple Latte that Matt had just made for me. Waaaaaaaaah! That coffee sprayed all over the entire dashboard, console, and all over my jeans, not to mention that my coffee was gone. I was so mad at Frankie! Grandpa helped me mop up the mess, and Carly made me a delicious replacement coffee, so all was not lost. Sunshine, great food, and outdoor time with family made for a wonderful afternoon after that mishap!
